Abstract

The article presents the reception of the problem of the genesis and origins of the formation and development of natural science training of future primary school teachers. Two main periods of this process are identified. The first longest period of the XI-XVIII centuries. defined as a stage of "naturalistic education and upbringing." Its main content was natural ideas about the development of nature, which were passed down from generation to generation.

They reflect regular, deterministic natural processes and phenomena, which later became the basis for the development of theory and methods of teaching science. The second period is outlined in the late XVIII - early XX centuries and defined as "science school". At this time, science entered the practice of schooling, began to develop its scientific-theoretical and organizational-methodological principles. The contribution of well-known scientists, didactics and naturalists to this case was specified: V. Zueva (compiled the first textbook on natural science for public schools): K. Roulier (prepared textbooks for the school in the spirit of "biological direction"); M. Pirogov, K. Ushinsky, O. Dukhnovych, O. Gerd, V. Polovtsev and others. (developed theoretical and methodological principles of teaching science in primary school).
