TO THE CONCEPT OF THE STUDY OF THE ARCHITECTURAL, AND RCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX «CASTLE MOUNTAIN» IN THE CITY OF HALYCH ON THE DNISTER RIVER

Abstract

By analyzing the multi-layered complex «Castle Mountain» in Halych on the Dnister river in the landscape, historical, architectural, and archaeological aspects, the author puts forward the hypothesis of the spread of the cultural layer of the princely age on its territory. Considering the research of the monuments of this period as a priority task of the National Reserve «Ancient Halych», a strategy for the development of «Castle Mountain» is proposed, based on the principles of architectural and archaeological discovery, study, conservation, demonstration and usage of objects of all historical periods preserved in the cultural layer.
