ON THE QUESTION OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE PARISHES OF HORODENKA AND THE KRYLOS MONASTERY OF THE GALICIAN CATHEDRAL IN THE 18TH CENTURY

Abstract

The article examines the issue of interaction between the Horodenka governorate and the Galician Krylos on the basis of the information in the materials of the general visitation of the Horodenka governorate in 1732–1733, 1746, and 1754. Here, the Assumption Monastery in Krylos appears not only as a monastic monastery, but also as a centre of spiritual enrichment, a ‘guide’ for parish enlighteners. During his visit to Horodenka in 1746, the Consul of the Central Central Synod of the Evangelical Church, Jerome Ozemkevych, paid due attention to the Krylos Monastery as a retreat centre. In 1749, he also visited the Kryloskyi Assumption Monastery. Another important aspect of the church life of the Galician wing is the perception of the protoprotestants, enlighteners, monks, and ordinary parishioners towards the Union in the first half of the eighteenth century. Historical facts are attested in the materials of the general visitation of the Horodenkivske governorate, as well as in the diary of Hetman Pylyp Orlyk. At the same time, the article, in addition to the data presented from Horodenka, does not ignore the Kryloskyi Monastery itself, as if transporting the reader to the atmosphere where the priests from Horodenka held retreats. The material includes archival and archaeological data, reconstructions of the Assumption and Illininsky monasteries in Krylos. In addition to graphic reconstructions based on archaeological research, photographs of the remains of stone monastery buildings and glassware (sixteenth ) seventeenth centuries) from the collection of the Ancient Halych National Reserve are also presented. In this material, we move from a 
imaginary visual perception of the Monastery of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, through the prism of historical and archaeological data, to its spiritual and educational significance for all the governorates of the Galician wing. In this study, the Kryloskyi Monastery appears as one of the retreat centres of the Galician Wing, including for the clergy of the Horodenkivske viceroyalty.
