Abstract
The article is devoted to the updating of the scientific and public attention to the monuments of ancient Halych at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries. The author noted the active cooperation of Ukrainian and Polish scientists in the case of archaeological and historical studies, restoration of the architectural objects and their conservation. The central and local authorities, and clergy played the major role in the activists’ activities.
